คำบุพบท (Preposition) คือ คำที่ใช้เชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ทางความหมายของคำกับอีกคำหนึ่งในประโยค ซึ่งอาจเป็นคำเพียงคำเดียวหรืออาจ เป็นกลุ่มคำที่รวมกันเป็นอีกหนึ่งหน่วยก็ได้ Prepositions หนึ่งตัวอาจมีได้หลายความหมาย ขึ้นอยู่กับว่ามันประกอบอยู่กับบริบทใด แบ่งได้ 4 ประเภท ดังนี้
1. Preposition of time: for, in, to, after, before, at the time of, at, on, from, until, during, at the end of, by, till, since, about, between, in the early of
